About Me
My name is Alexandria Prescott, but everyone calls me Ali. I am 23 years old and a graduate of Penn State University. My major is print journalism and my minor is English.
I have been fortunate enough to grow up with golden retrievers my entire life. My first dog, Cearus was my best friend as a baby and every picture my mom has of me from that age is of me and my dog. My mom bred American Kennel Club registered golden retrievers from when I was a born in 1989 until I was four years old. She successfully bred two litters with Cearus, which I was a part of. There are many photos of me in the whelping box, which is the place where the mother and her puppies stay, and I am acting as if I am just one of the puppies.
Along with breeding, my mom also was an effective trainer and showed many of her golden retrievers in obedience competitions. While I have had wonderful experiences, I have also learned in the past two years to become an effective trainer with my latest golden retriever, Bella. My mom trained me on how to effectively get my dog to listen, and if times were tough, we could always turn to the family friend, Amy Fields, who is a veterinarian and dog owner.
